Summer Camp: Beginner Rocket Camp

June 15 @ 1:00 pm - June 19 @ 4:00 pm

Get ready for some high-flying summer fun at Beginner Rocket Camp! Learn the exciting science behind rocketry. Build the Viking, a single stage rocket that flies over 1400 feet in the air. Family and friends will be amazed as each participant gets a chance to launch their rocket on the final day of the camp.

Design Dimensions Camp

June 21 - June 26

Design Dimensions is our six-day, five-night summer camp with day camp option for high school students. Design Dimensions focuses on 2D, 3D and 4D thinking across disciplines while providing hands-on experience with the latest design technology. Discover how to create and manipulate structures and objects, create your own zine, develop illustrated characters and so much more!

STEM Olympics

Get ready to run. Get ready to jump. And get ready as we create our own STEM Olympic Games of 2020. Grades 1-2/Ages 5-8.

Animal M.D.

June 22 @ 9:00 am - June 26 @ 4:00 pm

Take your love of animals to the next level in this career exploration camp. Use microscopes, x-rays, and dissection to expand your animal knowledge, and discover how organs, muscles, and bones work in your favorite animals. Grades 5-8/Ages 9-15.

Summer Camp: STEAMGirls

June 22 @ 1:00 pm - June 26 @ 4:00 pm

Join the Imaginarium staff for a one-of-a-kind girls only experience! Try your hand at different types of science, including chemistry, engineering, programming, robotics and biology. Campers will also get the chance to interview women working in science with guest speakers throughout the week.

Drop-in STEAM Space

Drop in to STEAM Space for open makerspace time. Build on our LEGO wall, create with craft supplies, engineer cardboard structures, make paper circuits, or turn a banana into a piano. Your only limit is your imagination! This program is for 8-13 year olds.

2019-2020 Water Game Jam

The 2019-2020 Water Game Jam will focus on aquatic ecosystems in Iowa and encourage students to incorporate field investigation data and observations, online data resources and investigations in a new game idea. Game ideas are submitted via a 4-minute video to be considered for recognition. A panel of game and science experts will use a scoring rubric to determine top analog and digital games in two age categories (Grades 3-5 and 6-8).

Girls Love Code

An after-school club for girls in 3rd-5th grade who are interested in learning to code. The club is for beginners to explore coding in a fun and friendly environment. Registration is required.

STEM Day at the Capitol – Keokuk Schools

February 27th, 2020|

On February 19, 2020 students and educators from George Washington Elementary and Keokuk High School were invited to present during STEM Day at the Capitol so legislators could see the impact of programs implemented through the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. The Keokuk Community School District has Scale Up programs in every building from Preschool through high school including Pint Size Science, Engineering is Elementary, STEM In Action, Differentiated Math Centers, Making STEM Connections, Engineering the Future, Computer Science Principles, and Bootstrap Data Science.
